Bouquet is a French term meaning a certain arrangement of flowers. It entails designing of a flower bunch in different ways, after which they can then be wrapped up and presented as gift items for particular occasions.

Bouquet preparation is recognized as an art that requires enormous patience and dedication to learn and master. It is also known as floristry and includes artistic floral tapestry by using leaves, flowers, herbs and even stems.

Preparing a bouquet begins with the plucking and sorting of individual flowers, followed by trimming and separating. This step is followed by removing the dried leaves and then arranging the flowers properly and finally wrapping them up.

Each florist has his own exclusive design, which is dependant on the occasions the bouquets are meant for. The design also depends on the availability of flowers in that season and what price the bouquets can fetch in the market.

It is also very important to understand that different cultures ascribe different meanings to a flower as the same flowers can represent different things in different communities. Thus, a bouquet must be selected sensibly if you wish to present it to a person who hails from another culture.

However, there are a few flowers that have identical meanings across different cultures. For example, if you love someone then irrespective of her cultural background, you can always present that person with red roses, as they are the universal symbol of love and have the same meaning across cultures.

Bouquets have a particular shelf life too. The flowers wither soon, however, if you take care of the flowers and keep them in vases filled with water, they might last a few days.

If you walk into a florist’s or a gift boutique, you can get bouquets of various designs from which you can choose the correct one for your occasion. But, if you do not have enough time, you can opt for making an online purchase instead of going to a florist shop.
