You have lot of choice in buying the chicken coops. You will have lot of sizes, designs and various material grades. You have to buy one which suits your requirement.

The other aspect of the chicken coops is to protect the chicken from the potential predators, protect from the extreme weather conditions and the chickens should maintain a healthy life in the chicken coop.

Firstly you need to make a decision whether the chicken coop will be stationed permanently or it will be moved around at sometime.

The product you buy should be of good quality. The doors, walls, mesh and windows should be strong to hold the attack of the predators. Too many times predator can break these mesh and attack your chickens if it not strong enough.

Chicken coops should provide adequate light and fresh air for the chicken inside the coops. The design of the coops should provide this adequately. Also it should be easily closed and locked during the night times, otherwise predator will attack mostly in night.

As there are so many different breeds of chickens that one can keep finding ones that you like can prove a challenge. But you need to make sure that you dont house too many chickens in yours. Ideally for each chicken you keep you should be providing them with two square foot of space in the coop.

The chicken coops should be easy to clean. As the regular cleaning will keep the chickens healthy and live longer. Make sure the design of the coops allows you to clean easily.

Note down all the points mentioned above and some more if you have any specific requirements. This will make your choice of chicken coop a better one.
